Mirzapur, one of India’s most favourite web-series was the result of many creatives getting together and bringing out this masterpiece. Out of all those, Puneet Krishna the main man behind the screenplay of Mirzapur has also served as the co-creator and showrunner for it. Now Puneet Krishna is going global as he signs an exclusive deal with Netflix.
Netflix has got Puneet Krishna onboard not for one but two projects. The details of the projects are kept under wraps at the moment but as far the news goes the two series will be a dark comedy and a drama. Both of them are set for production by early 2022.
The deal was negotiated and signed by the writer’s representatives, Tulsea on behalf of the writer with the streaming giant. The representative agency also reps the creators of Paatal Lok, Bombay Begum, Sacred Games, Delhi Crime and many more.
Both Krishna and Netflix are delighted to have partnered up with each other. Puneet Krishna has gone on to praise Netflix as they come forward to give a platform to writers from all around. He believes in the streaming service’s value for content creation and storytelling. As for Netflix, they are thrilled to have him onboard. They have also mentioned that he is one of India’s finest storytellers and they are very excited to work together with him on his upcoming projects.
Besides Mirzapur, Puneet Krishna has also worked with Amazon as the writer for the streaming service’s first original series in India, “Inside Edge”. He debuted with an Excel Entertainment project, “Bangistan”, for which he was also the co-writer.
