If we see the pre-covid scenario of OTT growth, then the two major bumps in the growth were seen through Sacred Games and Mirzapur. Prime Video is ready with the third season of Mirzapur which will hit the platform in about a fortnight on the 5th of July.
The show needs no introduction as it is one of those series that established an audience for web series in India. Mirzapur stars Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Isha Talwar, Vijay Varma and more.
,The complex family dynamics, politics and the power game are so brilliantly portrayed in the series that it turns out to be a great watch for the audience.
At the end of the second season, we see how Guddu Pandit kills Munna Tripathi but somehow the big don Kaleen Bhaiya is still alive and he is definitely more dangerous than his son.
With only Kaleen Bhaiya surviving as an adult male, it will be interesting to see how he treats his daughter-in-law and wife.
The trailer however is as well made as the teaser. There is a lot of violence and the changing dynamics are visible. Guddu Pandit wants to take over the throne by establishing his name. However, he still has the giant Kaleen Bhaiya to defeat. The whole trailer is about people chasing the throne. It lacks the spark that was there in the common looking characters of the first season. We have seen such “Vaastav” complexes in many gangster films but Mirzapur still used to be different.
Rasika Duggal’s character is looking more interesting than ever. Let’s see what happens in the third season. Pankaj Tripathi did not get much space in the trailer, let’s hope that he does in the whole series.
Mirzapur Season 3 is going to be released on the 5th of July. Of course, it is going to be a huge series but let’s see if it surpasses Panchayat Season 3 in terms of views.
