Tom Cruise’s superspy Ethan Hunt is ready to risk everything in the newest trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The stakes are higher than ever, and there’s only one man who can save the world from its biggest adversary to date: the Entity — a highly advanced AI (a blend of two cruciform keys) that becomes sentient and goes rogue in Dead Reckoning (2023).
Mission: Impossible 8 will pick up directly after the events of Dead Reckoning and will feature Ethan Hunt’s battle against the rogue AI, the Entity. However, this time, it seems like governments and spy organisations from around the world — including the iconic IMF — will be seeking Hunt’s help to take down the Entity once and for all to save the world.
Accompanying the trailer, a description stated that Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning represents the culmination of Hunt’s every past choice and mission, with a release date of May 23, 2025.
Apart from Tom Cruise, the upcoming MI entry marks the return of Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett. We also see some new faces in the form of Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Katy O’Brian, and Tramell Tillman.
Mission: Impossible 8 has been made on a staggering budget of $400 million, emerging as one of the most expensive Hollywood productions ever. It will hit theatres worldwide on May 23. Stay tuned for more updates. Here’s the new trailer!
