The highly anticipated trailer for the Mohanlal starrer, ‘Aaraattu’ is dropping this evening… in just under an hour. With the film expected to drop in theatres within this week, a promo drop was always expected, especially since the teaser for this film dropped more than eight months ago. ‘Aaraattu‘, like most other movies, had its release date postponed multiple times due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The film was originally expected to release in theatres on October 14th 2022, but the sudden rise in cases due to the second wave of the Covid-19 virus caused its film producers to push the release date indefinitely. Two other Mohanlal films had dropped by this time – ‘Marakkar: Lion of The Arabian Sea’ and ‘Bro Daddy’.
‘Aaraattu’ is expected to be a Mohanlal film of the old, an old-school action entertainer for the masses. While this is good news for the Kerala theatre owners since it will bring a lot of Malayalam film lowers to the theatres, it will likely not be able to pull many during this “Omicron crisis”. If ‘Aaraattu’ does well, then we expect the film to stay in theatres for a long time, if only to accommodate Covid-conscious film lovers.
The highly anticipated Mohanlal thriller feature, ‘Aaraattu’ will premiere in theatres on February 10th 2022 – on the same day as Vikram’s ‘Mahaan’ drops for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
