After huge anticipation, the title of one of the most anticipated Malayalam films has finally been revealed. The title, the director and the lead star are all trending on Twitter as expected. And rightly so, since just the two names associated with the film are enough to justify the buzz- Mohanlal and Lijo Jose Pellissery. And the movie’s title? ‘Malaikottai Valliban’.
The movie more than anything is about the joining of two powerful forces of cinema- Mohanlal and Pellissery. One a star with experience of decades of ruling the industry and despite many having come and gone, he’s still there at the top. The other is a filmmaker known for his unique genre of filmmaking, which didn’t get the recognition it deserved a few years ago, but now is one of the star directors in the industry. And their union finally has a title and fans are rejoicing.
‘Malaikottai Valliban’ will be written by P S Rafeeque, who has worked before with Pellissery in the Fahad Faasil starrer ‘Amen’ for which he is credited with writing and story credits. Music will be done by Prashant Pillai, another frequent collaborator of the Pellissery. Madhu Neelakandan has been roped in as cinematographer and to top it all, lead director Tinu Pappachan(director of superhit Ajagajantharam) who had worked with Pellissery before as assistant director for Angamaly Diaries will reportedly be retaking the position this time as well!
With Pellissery’s last film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ with the other superstar of the industry Mammootty receiving immense praise from all those who’ve seen the film, the hopes for ‘Malaikottai Valliban’ is massive. If such a rejoice is following a simple title reveal, the waves the movie will create upon its release are imaginable.
