Indian cinephiles and diehard Mohanlal fans might already be aware that the veteran actor’s upcoming film titled ‘Alone’ has reportedly skipped theatrical release and will release directly on an OTT platform. It is also being reported that ‘Alone’ will start streaming sometime in the month of August and Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar were in talks for the same. Although official confirmation for Alone’s OTT release date and platform is yet to be announced by the makers.
It was previously assumed that the only key character in the small-setting movie ‘Alone’ would be that of Kalidas, which has been essayed by Mohanlal. However, in an exciting piece of update according to a recent report by an online portal, there are going to be multiple cameos by popular actors in Shaji Kailas’s directorial film ‘Alone’. And the two actors who are expected to have cameos in the film are Prithviraj Sukumaran and Manju Warrier. Interestingly, they are not the only actors who are a part of Mohanlal and Shaji Kailas’ ‘Alone’.
This would not be the first time Mohanlal and Prithviraj would be collaborating for a film. Because previously, the duo had worked together in the latter’s directorial debut ‘Lucifer’ and later in Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Bro Daddy’. Moreover, Manju Warrier, who featured alongside Mohanlal in Priyadarshan’s ‘Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea’, would be sharing screen space with Prithviraj in the upcoming crime drama ‘Kaapa’. While Prithviraj will next be seen in Shaji Kailas’s upcoming action thriller ‘Kaduva’.
Coming back to Shaji Kailas’ ‘Alone’, the film is set in a thriller format and revolves around a character named Kalidas (played by Mohanlal), who gets stranded in the pandemic induced lockdown while he is on the way from Coimbatore to Kerala.
