The official trailer for Hoichoi’s Mahalaya program has been revealed and it looks quite good. ‘Mohishasur Mordini’, as it has been named after the original radio program, will be an original series. This is the first time somebody is trying to do Mohishasur Mordini on OTT. It has a rich legacy of shows laden with songs and action on both Radio and TV. Let us see how well it turns out for OTT. There will obviously be a lot of theatrical elements in the show and we can expect very less realism, but this is what gives the program its charm.
Bengalis have always been awed about Mahalaya and their favourite ‘Mohishasur Mordini’, it is one of the most nostalgic moments for Bengalis. But there are chances of audiences comparing this to the original one; it will reach a huge number of audiences nonetheless.
Mohishasur Mordini stars actors like Rajnandini Paul, Rohaan Bhattacharya, Arkadeep Mallika Nath and many others. Let us see how well the platform pulls off Mahalaya. All Bengalis wait for these programmes on TVs and Radios and now they will be able to stream it on OTT too, this is some huge development indeed. The show will premiere on the 2nd of October.
The trailer looks good, though it does not look like it is very different from the TV ones. We will have to watch it to find out.
