The teaser of Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area is now out. The series as the name suggests is based on the original Spanish series ‘La Casa De Papel’ which was marketed as Money Heist outside Spain.
We all know the popularity of Korean shows all across the globe and particularly in India. When the news about them remaking the epic series broke, it received mixed responses.
On one hand, people were appreciating the Korean flavour it will bring, on the other it had the risk of spoiling the original.
But the teaser is out, and it is not a frame to frame remake. This time the series is more political and will involve the usually turbulent relationship between North and South Korea.
The series has Yoo Ji-Tae playing the role of Professor and Kim Yun-jin who’ll reprise the role of Inspector Raquel Murillo.
Apart from them, it stars Park Hae-soo as Berlin, Jun Jong-Seo as Tokyo, Lee Won-jong as Moscow, Kim Ji-hun as Denver, Jang Yoon-Ju as Nairobi, Lee Hyun-woo as Rio, Kim Ji-hoon as Helsinki and Lee Kyu-ho as Oslo.
The series talks about an infamous decision where the governments of North and South Korea come up with a common currency. It was meant to erase the economic gap but it performed on the contrary.
Now the Professor with his gang is all planned up to rob the mint.
The series premieres on June 24 on Netflix. Do you think it will do justice to the original?
