Moon Knight Season 2 needs to happen! That’s it—we’ve said it! It’s been over two years since the debut season premiered on Disney+. Despite the show receiving highly positive reactions from both audiences and critics, Marvel Studios surprisingly seemed less enthusiastic about continuing the series. The production house has yet to officially greenlight a second season. But thanks to What If…? Season 3, it seems like there’s still hope for the show.
The latest season of What If…? debuted with the episode “What If… the Hulk Fought the Mech Avengers,” featuring the Avengers battling an army of Kaiju-shaped Hulks with Mech suits. These gigantic Hulks were created as a result of Bruce Banner’s failed attempt to extract gamma radiation from his body. In one of the Mech suits, we see Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector. His appearance in the episode was a huge, yet welcome, surprise, as it indicates that Marvel Studios hasn’t forgotten about the popular superhero.
This has made many fans optimistic about Moon Knight Season 2, which should explore the protagonist’s third identity, Jake Lockley if it ever comes to fruition. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, revealing that Lockley was responsible for killing Ammit and Arthur Harrow. Khonshu secretly uses Jake to take down both figures, which means that neither Steven nor Marc is truly free from Khonshu’s influence.
Moon Knight Season 2 should focus more on Jake, as he is the most violent and ruthless of Marc’s personalities. Things are bound to turn chaotic when Steven and Marc discover his existence. They may even be forced by Khonshu to work with Jake. Let’s see what Marvel Studios decides to do next. Stay tuned for more updates!
