Disney is about to get ahold of some of the most iconic films by Sony. Sarcastically or unsarcastically, Sony’s attempts at Spider-Man spin-offs have become iconic, and none have reached the level of Morbius.
As per a recent update, Jared Leto’s Morbius will be streaming on Disney from March.
Now, though Disney gets criticized for their Marvel content once in a while, especially for “Captain Marvel” and “The Marvels,” none of them can compete with Sony’s ventures, a flop-making machine, except for the iconic Spider-Man films featuring Tobey Maguire.
But after Morbius comes to Disney, the fans will definitely respect “The Marvels” more. It’s quite a scenario of irony.
In the comics, Morbius is definitely one of the most established anti-heroes, but on the screen, it flopped massively. Leto’s attempt at Joker, DC’s biggest villain, also took a massive slap from the fans. Now, it isn’t enough to question Leto’s ability; “Dallas Buyers Club” made him win the Oscars.
But Leto’s comic book venture didn’t work well, and Morbius is Marvel’s and Sony’s one of the weakest films, having an IMDb rating of 5.2 and 15% on Rotten Tomatoes. In comparison, “Venom” performs well enough, but “Madame Web” wins in terms of IMDb rating, with a mind-boggling 3.8 on IMDb.
And as Sony is far from cracking the Spider-Man spin-off secret, shopping one of their worst products off will definitely gain some laughter. If you haven’t streamed it, have a laugh and wait for this to be released on Disney, the exact date is yet to arrive.
