As Covid-19 cases are slowly dying down and people start following their normal routine, the film industry is still going strong; with production companies maintaining extreme safety measures. The downside though is that even if one important crew member gets the corona-virus, then the production has to be stopped for at least 2 weeks or till the person recovers. This was seen recently when Robert Pattinson got tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and the shooting for ‘The Batman’ had to be put on hold till he recovered. He has recovered now and shooting has started, fully-fledged.
Now, multiple shows and movies have been put on hold due to either cast or crew having tested positive for the corona-virus. Julian Fellowes’ 2021 releasing television series, ‘The Gilded Age’ will take more time to come on screen as two members of the crew working on the show have recently been tested positive. On the other side of the television spectrum, the 56-season running television series, ‘The Days Of Our Lives’ have also reported a member of the crew to have tested positive. But NBC has said that there won’t be any delay in air dates, and the show’s run will not be disrupted.
These are not the only reported cases of production having to be stopped. Last week, CBS’s ‘Young Sheldon’ was forced to pause for a day, after a crew member was found to have tested positive. Netflix’s ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ have also paused filming in Ireland due to a number of false positive test results, while on the film side, ‘Jurassic Park: Dominion’ has paused for two weeks after positive tests.
We hope the positive cases will turn negative soon under quarantine (hopefully without any worse case scenarios), and the production houses can get on with their shooting. We wish every person tested positive, a hearty recovery and hope they get well soon.
