It’s time for another much awaited showdown straight from Warner Bros. Fans are super excited as the release of Mortal Kombat inches near. The movie initially slated to release on the 16th of April, was earlier pushed back for a 23rd April release. As for Indian fans, who are thinking as to when will they be able to watch the movie here. Not to worry, as the movie will be releasing on 23rd of April, the same date as the US.
Mortal Kombat delay was a part of a strategic plan from the Warner Bros. They didn’t want the movie to clash with their epic Godzilla vs. Kong. The movie singlehandedly and successfully seemed to have resurrected back the film industries internationally. Mortal Kombat was pushed back so that Godzilla vs. Kong could have enough time to shine in the box office.
Mortal Kombat, follows the story of a long forgotten MMA fighter. He is unaware of his secret lineage and this becomes the reason for assassins to hunt him down. Concerned about the safety of his loved ones, he gathers a team of fighters whose responsibility is to protect the Earth realm. This leads to a heated battle between the fighters and assassins. Directed by Simon McQuoid, the movie is produced by James Wan.
The movie is releasing in India in the midst of a potential second COVID-19 wave, it will be interesting to see if the movie can do the same business like that of Godzilla vs. Kong. As for the release, the movie will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions along with English all over the country.
