We are already into August first week and there are some eagerly anticipated films coming up. So, we thought of doing a comparative analysis for some of the most anticipated Indian movies that are expected to release either on OTT or theatres in the month of August.
But how do we precisely quantify the anticipation around a film before its release? One way is to observe the total number of views for the film’s official trailer released on YouTube. Another parameter can also be the number of likes (or dislikes) for the film’s trailer.
However, both these quantifications cannot probably be fool-proof and totally reliable parameters to gauge a film’s actual anticipation level amongst prospective viewers. But since we can consider just one, we have taken into account the total number of trailer views (at the time of writing the article) for films, to compile a list of the top five most anticipated Indian movies slated to release in the month of August.

So, as per the total number of trailer views, Siddharth Malhotra starrer ‘Shershaah’ has topped the chart. However, ‘BellBottom’ has scored the highest with reference to the total number of likes, which are a whopping 5.87 lakh. ‘Shershaah’ is just behind with 4.94 lakh likes. While ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India‘ has an impressive 4.35 lakh likes (Both trailers combined).
And platform-wise, Amazon Prime Video leads in this parameter as the most anticipated title ‘Shershaah’ will stream on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. Moreover, ‘Kuruthi’ will also stream on the same platform.
