Netflix’s hit erotic drama ‘365 Days‘ may have been the most-watched film on the streaming platform. But when it comes to appreciating the quality of the Polish “Fifty Shades Of Grey” lookalike, 365 Days has scored a dubious record. The Netflix film has received the most number of nominations at the annual Razzie Awards 2021 – the Awards that recognise the WORST movies of the year.
Coming to the number of nominations received by “365 Days”, it is a whopping 6 nominations for the film that grabbed eyeballs and earned brickbats, all in the same breath. The film picked up nominations for Worst Film, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and Worst Remake/Ripoff (for being a Fifty Shades Of Grey ripoff) of the year. Phew, after the clamour against the film for glorifying the Stockholm Syndrome; and raging demands for it to be taken down from Netflix, the six Razzie nominations seem like the final nail in the coffin of the film.
Robert Downey Jr’s “Dolittle”, the subject of much bashing by movie-goers, joined 365 Days at the top of the nominations list with 6 noms of its own. The remake of Eddie Murphy’s hit film is nominated for Worst Film, Worst Actor, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Remake, and Worst Screen Combo for Robert Downey Jr. & His Utterly Unconvincing “Welsh” Accent!!
Sony and Blumhouse horror thriller “Fantasy Island” received 5 Razzie nominations, Sia’s directorial debut “Music” got 4 nominations.
