Disney is making sure that no part of India ignores the release of ‘Mufasa’. It will be the prequel to the live action movie ‘The Lion King’ which was itself a remake of the 1998 animated movie of the same name. The movie is directed by Oscar-winning Barry Jenkins of ‘Moonknight’ fame. Hans Zimmer is another reason to wait for Mufasa.
The film will deal with the story of young Mufasa and Scar. Barry Jenkins says this is the ‘story of Mufasa’s rise to royalty’. The film may have romantic elements about Mufasa and Sarabi and how they met. The trailer shows that the movie will be about how an outcast gets a family but the loving life becomes a short lived dream.
Mahesh Babu has been roped in to lend his voice to Mufasa in the Telugu version. This is some big news as in the Hindi version, Shahrukh Khan is voicing the older Mufasa as his son Aryan voices Simba and his other son AbRam voices the younger Mufasa. Fans are excited about the family of Shahrukh coming together for the film, and now there is much excitement when Mahesh Babu enters the scene.
This makes sure that ‘Mufasa’ will indeed be a big thing in India and roping in such big stars with massive fan following will pay off well.
