The Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ is having a dream run at the Kerala box office. Bagging rave reviews from critics and audience appreciation like no other, this unique black comedy film is going places. The makers have now announced a sequel to the film, within just few days after the release. The makers have followed Karthi’s Sardar pattern in putting out sequel plans soon after the first part began getting stunning reception at the theatres.
The leading man Vineeth on Instagram Live on Wednesday night announced that ‘Mukundan Unni Associates 2′ would go on floors in the year 2024. He made the announcement after thanking the audience’ for their encouraging reception. The core team of the film including director Abhinav Sundar Nayak, Sudhi Koppa who played Robin and Arsha Chandini Baiju who played Meenakshi also joined Vineeth in the live. The director also confirmed the second part on his twitter account to fans. However, we are yet to know about the cast, idea and crew of the planned sequel.
“When Abhi told us an idea for part 2, I found it interesting. We are working on it,” Vineeth added. Mukundan Unni Associates was the directorial debut of Abhinav Sunder Nayak, who was a prominent Editor of films like Godha, Uriyadi and Aanandam. He co-wrote Mukundan Unni Associates with Vimal Gopalakrishnan and co-edited it with Nidhin Raj Arol.
The film follows the life of antisocial Adv. Mukundan Unni who dreams to be rich. In order to be rich, he tries to live a structured life for years to no avail. He then follows an aggressive path that works for him and makes him richer. As he grows rich, he becomes competitive, petty, and even goes to the extent of killing. He starts lurking around emergency wards and pursuing accident insurance claims.
This black comedy stars Vineeth Sreenivasan and Suraj Venjaramoodu in lead roles. Besides the duo, Mukundan Unni Associates also stars Tanvi Ram, Jagadeesh, Manikandan Pattambi, Biju Sopanam, George Kora, Althaf Salim, Riya Saira and Ranjith Balakrishnan in major roles.
