Agatha Christie is definitely one of the most favourite writers of filmmakers to adapt from. Many iconic movies have been adapted from her stories, the most recent of which is Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Charlie Chopra’.
One more mystery from the author is going to be adapted for the big screens soon. Agatha Christie’s 1939 novel ‘Murder Is Easy’ will be a two part thriller written by Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre and directed by Meenu Gaur. Meena Gaur is known for directing ‘World On Fire’.
The movie tells the story of a murderer on the loose in 1950s England. A man named Fitzwilliam meets a young woman Ms Pinkerton in a train. Pinkerton lets him know that there is a series of murders in a village named Wychwood. The villagers think that the deaths are simple accidents. But Ms Pinkerton knows better and she is on her way to the Scotland Yard to let the police know everything. Mysteriously, she is murdered on her way and Fitzwilliam thinks of investigating the case.
The Cast includes actors like David Jonsson, Morfydd Clark, Penelope Wilton, Sinead Matthews, Tom Riley, Douglas Henshall, Mathew Baynton, Mark Bonnar, Nimra Bucha, Tamzin Outhwaite, Jon Pointing, and Phoebe Licorish. Morfydd Clark is known for his roles in The Rings Of Power, Saint Maud. David Jonsson is seen in projects like Industry and Rye Lane.
It is indeed great news for mystery fans. There are very few writers who can actually pull of thrillers with the ease that Agatha Christie did. She has a huge base of readers amd also enjoyers of her stories through adaptations. The release date of the movie is not revealed yet but the shooting will start off soon.
