A few days ago, Netflix released a never-seen-before sports documentary about one of the greatest Auto Racers of all time – Michael Schumacher. Titled Schumacher, the documentary film was well received abroad, especially in Europe and the U.S. but the film wasn’t gaining as much traction within India. Still, the film managed to get noticed on multiple social media platforms and has started to grab the attention of Netflix users from India as well. It is currently in the 9th spot of Top watched this week in Netflix India and we have a feeling that the number is only going to rise next week. But why should you watch Schumacher?
Well, for one, like we mentioned earlier – Schumacher is one of the all-time greats. Two- the documentary will show you what his attitude and passion was, towards his sport of choice. Three – the film will follow Schumacher as he rose to prominence and became one of the biggest names of the sport for almost two decades. It will also talk about his skydiving injury and his current recovery process. Similar to how The Last Dance entertained us, we expect Schumacher to get you interested in the man, even if you do not know much about the world of auto racing and Formula One. He was one of the biggest household names at one point with Schumacher’s name being uttered alongside Federer, Michael Jordan and Pele.
The documentary will feature interviews with his close friends and family including Schumacher’s wife Corinna, his father Rolf, his brother Ralf, and his children Gina-Maria and Mick (who has followed in his father’s footsteps and has become a Formula One racer himself) and his manager Willi Weber. Prominent figures of Formula One including Jean Todt, Bernie Ecclestone, Sebastian Vettel, Mika Häkkinen, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, and Flavio Briatore all give interviews about the legendary Formula One racer as well.
