Finally, the much-awaited Narappa trailer is here! The Telugu remake of Dhanush’s Tamil cult hit Asuran is one of the most anticipated film this year, and its trailer shows why. Telugu icon Venkatesh is simply superb in the role of a Dalit farmer, who fights back against years of suppression by rich landlords in one explosive stroke.
The action sequences featuring Venkatesh are riveting to watch, proving that age is just a number for the most-loved Telugu actor. If his rage clearly shows through in the fight scenes, the gravitas in the emotional sequences becomes equally palpable as we watch the 2-minute long trailer. Venkatesh is particularly terrific in the montage that shows his younger, angrier, hot-headed version. Priyamani shines, in the brief glimpses we get of her in the Narappa trailer.
The one element that is clear from the trailer is that Narappa promises to do full justice to its Tamil original, Asuran. Comparisons with Asuran will undoubtedly follow, once Narappa drops on Amazon Prime Video. But the Narappa trailer promises that naysayers won’t have much of a grouse with the remake – yes, it seems that good!
Narappa stars Venkatesh, Priyamani, Karthik Rathnam, Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma and Sampath Raj in pivotal roles. It is directed by Sreekanth Addala, and jointly produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu and D. Suresh Babu under their respective banners V. Creations and Suresh Productions.
