After a prolonged wait by fans, Netflix has finally revealed the release date for ‘Narcos: Mexico’ Season 3. The much-awaited new season of the successful spin-off series of its hit show ‘Narcos’ arrives on Netflix on November 5, 2021. Along with the release date, Netflix has also announced that Narcos: Mexico Season 3 will be the final season of the series.
Parent show ‘Narcos’ had also run for three seasons. Its fourth season had been reset into the current spinoff series, ‘Narcos: Mexico’. Netflix dropped a 48-sec date announcement teaser on its social media handles, which gives glimpses of what one can expect in the new season of Narcos: Mexico.
The most intriguing thing that the short teaser reveals is that Narcos: Mexico Season 3 will have a female narrator recounting the turn of events in the finale season. It is a first for the spinoff series as well as the original series. The narrator is new addition to the cast, Luisa Rubino, who plays Andrea Nuñez, an ambitious young journalist, intent on exposing the corruption that has allowed drug cartels to flourish in her country.
Luis Gerardo Méndez, Alberto Guerra and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, aka Bad Bunny, are the other new additions to the cast for Narcos: Mexico Season 3. The teaser gives glimpses of most of the cast members, both new and old. Returning cast members include Scoot McNairy, José María Yázpik, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda and Gorka Lasaosa.
Narcos: Mexico Season 3 consists of ten episodes, and picks up after the events of the previous season. Season 3 is set in the nineties, and takes the saga forward, narrating the war that breaks out amongst the cartels after Felix’s (Diego Luna in the previous season) arrest.
