Season 2 sees the return of Diego Luna as Félix Gallardo, the head of the drug cartel of Mexico. But, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Kiki Camarena, the DEA officer, played by Michael Peña, is dead and dusted. The DEA is hell bent on punitive retaliation.
Félix faces hints of rebellion within his own organisation too, as is apparent from the provocative scene in the teaser where, while all seems fine at the dinner table headed by Félix, everyone holds a gun to everyone else below the table. Quite provocative and suggestive, if we may.
Scoot McNairy, the mostly invisible narrator of Season 1, makes a full-fledged appearance as DEA Agent Walt Breslin. To put it succinctly, Narcos: Mexico Season 2 is set to see a lot of upheaval in the trajectory of the powerful drug cartel that headlines the series.
Whether it stays powerful enough by the time the season ends remains to be seen.
Narcos: Mexico 2 premieres on Netflix on 13th February 2020.
