Eminent filmmaker Sudhir Mishra is all set to reportedly (via Fentil Seta) team up with another gifted filmmaker Anubhav Sinha for a movie titled ‘Afwaah’. The film will be directed by Sudhir Mishra and Anubhav Sinha’s production banner Benaras Mediaworks and production company T-Series (Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar) will produce the upcoming project.
Regarding the film’s cast, proficient performers Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar have been roped in to play the lead roles in Sudhir Mishra’s directorial movie ‘Afwaah’. The film’s plot will ostensibly be set in the heartland of India and will carry a meaningful message for the audiences.
This is not the first time Sudhir Mishra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have collaborated for a film project. Because previously, the duo has worked together in Sudhir Mishra’s last directorial film ‘Serious Men’, which featured the NSD alumnus and National Award-winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the primary protagonist and the film went to bag an International Emmy nomination.
Coming back to the movie ‘Afwaah’, the film’s underlying premise is purportedly based on the subject of rumor-mongering and spreading of false information, a subject that has been a hot topic for a long time. The movie is soon expected to commence its first filming schedule in Alwar city located in the state of Rajasthan.
The exciting collaboration between Sudhir Mishra, Anubhav Sinha, T-Series, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Bhumi Pednekar is certainly bound to result in some magnificent creative fireworks for the film ‘Afwaah’.
Sudhir Mishra’s body of work as a director includes some fine films such as ‘Dharavi’, ‘Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin’, ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’, ‘Chameli’, ‘Inkaar’, and his most recent film ‘Serious Men’, amongst others. Moreover, not many people are aware that Sudhir Mishra had also worked as an assistant director and scriptwriter in Kundan Shah’s cult dark-comedy film ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’.
