Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s latest film ‘Afwaah’ will have its digital premiere soon. The Hindi mystery thriller was released in theaters on the 5th of May this year. It will be available to watch on Netflix from the 30th of June.
Afwaah has a splendid cast of actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhumi Pednekar, Sharib Hashmi, Sumit Kaul, Sumeet Vyas, Appurv Gupta and more. It is written and directed by Sudhir Mishra, one of the best filmmakers of the industry.
‘Afwaah’, translated as ‘Rumour’, is the story of communal riots and the age-old hindu muslim problem, but in a new bottle. Nivi, played by Bhumi Pednekar is the fiancée of a powerful politician Vikram. Disgusted with the ways kf spreading violence, Nivi flees from Vikram and some gundas are sent after her. Nivi gets help from a Muslim man who is about to launch a new book. The two people flee from here to there and a rumour of ‘love jihad’ is spread by Vikram to find them sooner. The rumour is that a Muslim man has eloped with the Hindu fiancée of a politician. This causes quite an uproar and soon Nivi and Rahab, the Muslim man, find a terrifying secret. Sudhir Misjra has told the story beautifully. The movie got mixed reviews, but it can be watched for Nawazuddin only.
Afwaah is produced by Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar under the banners of Benaras Media Works and T Series. The music for the film is composed by Karel Antonin and the cinematography is handled by Mauricio Vidal.
It’s been really long since Nawazuddin delivered a really good movie. Watch Afwaah on Netflix if you missed it in theaters. It will be available to watch from the 30th of June.
