The shooting for a new season of the much popular series ‘Special Ops’ has begun now. The Kay Kay Menon starrer Hotstar thriller will be premiering on the platform next year.
The first season of ‘Special Ops’ released in 2020 and was written by Neeraj Pandey, Deepak Kingrani and Benazir Ali Fida. It told the story of Himmat Singh, a senior officer in the Research & Analysis Wing, who is facing an enquiry for huge expenditure after his agents, who are deployed in the middle east to find a terrorist named Ikhlaq Khan. Nobody in the agency believes Ikhlaq Khan Himmat Singh has to go through a lot of resistance to stick to the case.
However, the second installment of the show was not its second season. ‘Special Ops 1.5’ revolved around the rise of Himmat Singh and his personal losses. The show also dealt with the Ikhlaq Khan case acting as a perfect prequel.
The video that the makers have shared has a helicopter flying off and there are cameras operating, an ambulance and a body in a stretcher. The story of the second season will continue from where the last season ended. Actors like Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher will be reprising their roles.
The release dates have not been announced yet. There has not been a massive espionage thriller in Hindi for a long time. Fans await Himmat Singh with eager hearts. Hopefully, this season too will win the hearts of audiences like the previous ones.
