There is no war more fierce than the cyber war; at least, that’s what the experts are saying. It can crumble a government or run someone’s life, and Netflix is now trying to bring a documentary that will showcase the problems of such a world.
So, what is the deal?
Louis Theroux’s production was developing a documentary on the UK cyberstalker, and Netflix took no time to acquire it. As the red and black brand is stepping up its documentary game, such acquisitions will definitely help the company on the way ahead.
February 21st will be the day when Netflix plans to stream it globally.
In January 2022, Hardy received the UK’s lengthiest online stalking sentence, serving nine years. He employed fake social media profiles, initiating conversations with the deceptive question, ‘Can I tell you a secret?’
His messages caused discord and heartache, often leading to severe consequences for victims and their connections. It does look like a documentary-worthy story.
Theroux has already made a legacy in terms of making documentaries, and this one won’t disappoint as well. Liza Williams will also be directing the show along with Tash Gaunt.
Also, being a collaboration with The Guardian, the paper will also contribute some facets to the production. Overall, the project does look exciting.
In terms of regional attraction, Netflix, shockingly, did a tremendous job with something like “Curry and Cyanide” as well as with “The Hunt for Veerappan” in the Indian market. So, the UK, hopefully, will see the same magic with the new documentary.
