One of the most prominent comedy series on Netflix this year was Blockbuster. We don’t mean “Blockbuster” as a hit but as the name of the show.
It was actually an office comedy show where we would see a single camera recording the activities of the employees.
It was released on the platform just one and a half months back on the 3rd of November. However prominent as the show might be, it was certainly not at all successful in terms of views. The show had 10 episodes of less than 30 minutes each and still, it couldn’t barge into the USA Top 10 list, let alone the global chart of highest viewing shows.
This was the main reason the show got canceled and it wasn’t even very unexpected. With mammoth shows like 1899 failing to do the trick, it was very unlikely for a less promoted show like Blockbuster to do anything magical.
The show starred Randall Park, Melissa Fumero, Olga Merediz, Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur, JB Smoove, Kamaia Fairburn, Leonard Robinson, and Keegan Connor Tracy in important roles.
Regardless, this seems to be a week of cancellations. DC Studios are brutally canceling films, AppleTV+ canceled Shantaram and Netflix did the same with Warrior Nun, The Fame Game, and now, Blockbuster.
