Netflix has announced the cast for its upcoming film ‘The Bubble’ by Judd Apatow who will direct, co-write and produce the film through his Apatow Productions. Pam Brady (‘Hamlet 2’, ‘South Park’) will serve as the co-writer for ‘The Bubble’.
The ensemble cast includes the ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ fame Maria Bakalova, Karen Gillan, Iris Apatow, Fred Armisen, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Pedro Pascal and Peter Serafinowicz.
The official logline for ‘The Bubble’ on Netflix describes the film as a “Comedy about a group of actors and actresses stuck inside a pandemic bubble at a hotel attempting to complete a film.”
Barry Mendel, Donald Sabourin and Pam Brady will serve as executive producers for the meta comedy Netflix film. Mendel and Apatow have been frequent collaborators and their previous works include Academy Award nominated films ‘The Big Sick’ and ‘Bridesmaids’ as well as ‘The King of Staten Island’, ‘This Is 40’, ‘Trainwreck’ and ‘Funny People’.
‘The Bubble’ is Apatow’s first Netflix feature film and it joins the list of films centered around the pandemic like HBO Max’s ‘Lock Down’ starring Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Apatow’s earlier directorial and writer credits include Emmy Award-winning ‘The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling’, ‘The King of Staten Island’, ‘Trainwreck’, ‘Funny People’, ‘This Is 40’, ‘Knocked Up’ and ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin’.
Netflix hasn’t revealed the release date for ‘The Bubble’ as of now.
