After commissioning a slew of Korean dramas last year, Netflix has now announced that it is developing a Korean zombie series called ‘All Of Us Are Dead’. The series will be adapted from a popular Korean webtoon, called ‘Now At Our School’.
The narrative is set in a school, and the protagonists are a bunch of school kids who are trapped in their school in the midst of a zombie virus outbreak. The zombie virus has spread uncontrolled, and most of the school is infected.
All of Us Are Dead will be written by Chun Sung-il, directed by Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su and produced by JTBC Studios in association with Film Monster.
Webtoons, especially Korean ones, are all the rage on the internet these days. Many Webtoons have been adapted into TV dramas for local Korean TV channels, or are in the process of being adapted. Now At Our School is extremely popular in Korea, as also in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia.
In recent days, Netflix has commissioned several K-dramas, including medical drama, Hospital Playlist; romantic sci-fi series My Holo Love; and horror fantasy, Kingdom. Before that, Netflix had commissioned the well-received K-drama ‘Love Alarm’, also an adaptation of a Korean webtoon.
What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim is also a popular Korean TV series that was first a webtoon.
