Netflix has unveiled the opening credits theme for the upcoming anime series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, a project based on the character’s graphic novels written by Bryan Lee O’Malley.
The forthcoming ‘Canadian anime’ treasures the cast of Edgar Wright’s ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’, which had Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Anna Kendrick, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Alison Pill, Brie Larson, and more. The 2010 film was a box office disappointment, earning nearly $49 million against its $60-85 million budget, despite earning strong positive reviews. Over the years, the film has become a cult classic.
The anime’s opening credits theme consists of ‘Bloom’, a song by Japanese rock band Necry Talkie. The song is propulsive and intriguing, and it fits the visuals quite nicely. Speaking of the clip’s visuals, it seems like the series may have visuals like the 90’s cartoon shows.
The series was announced back in January 2022. Edgar Wright and Michael Bacall will reportedly serve as the series’ executive producers.
The duo of O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski has developed the anime series for Netflix. On the other hand, the series has the director Abel Gongora, who is well known for his work at Science SARU, a globally prominent Japanese anime studio.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will premiere on Netflix on November 17. Watch the opening credits below! Stay tuned for more updates.
