Netflix in collaboration with Nigerian production company is coming up with it’s first Nigerian Originals ‘Blood Sisters.’ This four part limited series is slated to premiere globally and exclusively on May 5. The crime-thriller is directed by Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang.
‘Blood Sisters‘ explores the tale of two friends- Sarah (played by Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (played by Nancy Isime). Sarah is engaged to her dream man, Kola (played by Deyemi Okanlawon) , but this seemingly happy union has a dark side which Kemi gets and tries to share her apprehension with Sarah but she turns her down. Sarah was determined to marry her fiance. What follows is a series of heart throbbing moments of disastrous events.
‘Blood Sisters’ dives into the theme of physical and drug abuse, commitment and associations with others, intra-family and amorous connections, and the test of witnessing a strong friendship admist tough events. Set in the hustle and bustle of the city of Lagos, the series sheds light on the harsh socio-economic issues constantly raging within Africa’s largest city. The anticipation is real rife as it showcases the various conditions that divides and marks a steep contrast to the socio-economic conditions prevailing in Africa’s most popular commerical and social hub.
The ensemble cast of “Blood Sisters” includes veteran actors Ramsey Nouah, Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Segun Arinze, and Joke Silva, superstars Nancy Isime, Ini Dima-Okojie, Deyemi Okanlawon, Wale Ojo, Gabriel Afolayan, Kehinde Bankole, Daniel Etim Effiong, Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey, Maurice Sam, Ibrahim Suleiman, Toke Makinwa, and Okey Uzoeshi.
