Netflix has unveiled the official teaser of its upcoming gothic horror flick, The Pale Blue Eye, starring Christian Bale and Harry Melling in the leading roles. The film serves as the adaptation of Louis Bayard’s 2006 novel of the same name. Also, the project has Scott Cooper as its helmer. Bale reunited with Cooper for The Pale Blue Eye after Hostiles (2017).
The film’s plot is set in 1830. Veteran detective Augustus Landor (Bale) receives the task to investigate a series of murders that haunt the US Military Academy in New York. A young cadet, Edgar Allen Poe (Melling), aids Landor in successfully executing his investigation.
The Pale Blue Eye treasures a jam-packed cast consisting of co-stars like Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Timothy Spall, and the legendary Robert Duvall.
Cooper wrote the film’s screenplay in addition to handling his helming duties. Howard Shore has composed the film’s score.
Netflix will release Christian Bale’s The Pale Blue Eye in selected theatres on December 23 before its streaming release on January 6, 2023. Stay tuned for more updates.
