The content range of Netflix is increasing day by day and the OTT giant has made its presence very strongly prominent in the major departments of the entertainment industry. Netflix’s coming into the gaming industry was one of the radical moves that turned out to be highly profitable for the company.
Now, Greg Peters, the Co-CEO of Netflix states that the platform will increase its investment on the longform content as well as focus on the regional contents. In a recent conference, he has said that the OTT giant eyes to grow bigger with more investments on all forms of content. Netflix will only not compete in the user-generated content.
Currently Netflix has over 50 exclusive games for mobile devices included in the subscription plan itself. There is a cloud streaming service as well that allows the subscriber to stream the game at any devices intended. However, Greg Peters says that it might take 18 months or more, but there will soon be games for all formats and devices. He said, “We’re excited about the performance that we’ve got in mobile, releasing more and more games, and we see every month our engagement goes up in that regard. But we have aspirations to go beyond that.”
Apart from gaming, Netflix also desires to have a strong presence in the local and regional languages. Having so many branches already, Netflix still does not have any content slate for many regional languages, Bengali for example. Peters says the gap will be covered pretty soon.
