The world is still sad and shocked after the ill-fated Titan tourist submersible imploded in the North Atlantic Ocean, killing all five passengers onboard. They had ventured to explore the wreck of another ill-fated British passenger liner Titanic, which sank in the same ocean in the year 1912.
Recently, it was reported that OTT giant Netflix is bringing back James Cameron’s Oscar-winning blockbuster film ‘Titanic’ on its streaming platform in a few days. And the decision of the streaming company has not gone down well with a lot of people. Because some of them have expressed their disappointment that bringing back ‘Titanic’ just a few days after the unfortunate Titan submersible incident does not seem to be the right thing to do and that Netflix is being insensitive to the tragedy.
‘Titanic’, as you all know, narrates the fictionalized tale of two people Jack and Rose (played by Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet) falling in love with each other while travelling in different classes on the ill-fated voyage. It was the first movie to reach the billion-dollar mark at the box office and went on to garner unanimous critical acclaim across the globe.
Although ‘Titanic’ is most definitely a must-watch film for everyone, the timing of its release on Netflix is being questioned by people in general and film enthusiasts. And that’s the reason Netflix is currently being trolled on social media platforms. After the backlash, will Netflix still release ‘Titanic’ on its OTT platform or postpone it? That remains to be seen. As of now, ‘Titanic’ is not streaming on the Netflix India platform. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on that.
