February is over, and there was not a lot of noise on Netflix. The beginning of the year was fantastic, thanks to Black Warrant, but it looks like February failed to keep up. Yes, there are some titles that became popular, like Dhoom Dhaam, but the overall slate was not very lucrative.
But before we go into the analysis, let’s have a look at what titles came to Netflix India in the month of February.
Original Movies
Dhoom Dhaam
Original Series
The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan
CID: Season 2
Dabba Cartel
Licensed Films
Anuja, Kadhalikka Neramillai, Daaku Maharaaj
Analysis
Dhoom Dhaam is a very weak film. It has a stupid comedy, and the thrill is nowhere to be seen. The dialogue, screenplay, and direction were totally off the point, and it was most certainly a miss. However, it earned decent views. People did not miss exploring what the film carried, and it looks like Dhoom Dhaam was a profitable project for Netflix India.
The case of The Greatest Rivalry: India vs. Pakistan was nothing different. The series is absolutely basic, as there is nothing new in the series. You would already know most of the stuff that the guests talk about, and it failed to bring many legends like Dhoni or Sachin to the show.
Then comes CID Season 2. Netflix India is on a streak to rob Sony TV. They first got Kapil Sharma on the platform, then CID and Crime Patrol are also on the way. It is a clear sign that Netflix India wants to be a replacement for TVs. Well, CID was not much of a buzz, either.
Dabba Cartel is a more than decent show, and the views are excellent. It earned a lot of views, and people were highly excited about it. This is a crazy case, and it looks like it will continue to charm people. Let’s see how many more views it earns.
Talking about the licensed film. Anuja is seriously average. It was definitely NOT worthy of getting an Oscar nomination, but thankfully, it did not win either.
Daaku Maharaaj became a huge hit on Netflix India, even though there were some controversies regarding the scenes with Urvashi Rautela. Anyway, it was a successful gamble to purchase the film’s streaming rights.
Then comes Kadhalikka Neramillai. This Tamil movie was anything but buzzy. It is not a bad film; actually, it is quite the contrary. But it failed to impress people.
Well, Netflix India was poor in the month of February, so it gets a 6/10.
