Time and again we have complained about how Netflix India lacks diversity. The platform has been in existence in India since 2018 and yet there are mostly Hindi series on the platform. With the exception of a Punjabi series, all the others are in Hindi. Even Rana Naidu which is led by two major Telugu actors is actually a Hindi series.
But looks like the platform is finally acknowledging the need to include more stories. They are beginning with a Telugu series. Yes, it is true.
They are planning to invest a massive 40 crores in the series. It is actually a really appreciable amount if you consider a web series which is not of Heeramandi’s scale.
They have also decided on the lead actors of the series. It will be Sundeep Kishan and Mithila Palkar. Tillu Square fame Mallik Ram will be directing the entire series.
This is pretty big news for Telugu subscribers to Netflix India.
Sundeep Kishan has worked in several Telugu and Tamil films but he badly needs a solid script and title to make it big. Looks like this series can provide him with that opportunity.
