Analysis
If you closely see then the endeavours are really appreciable. A film as bold as Chamkila, a series as magnanimous as Heeramandi, and a comedy show like The Great Indian Kapil Show.
However, ambition is never enough. While Heeramandi and Chamkila served in the content part too, The Great Indian Kapil Show came out to be an utter failure both in terms of love and viewership.
Murder Mubarak was pretty average, Bhakshak was below average and Maharaj was simply pathetic. Chamkila on the other hand is miles apart. It is an amazing film that will be respected in the time to come.
When it comes to series, then Killer Soup was actually nice. It had some brilliant performances coupled with a very interesting setting and direction. Even with flaws, it comes out to be really entertaining.
Maamla Legal Hai was very average. It was not really funny and the writing needed far more refinement.
Kota Factory Season 3 is really good. It is doing pretty well in terms of views too. The Great Indian Kapil Show is terrible. The old jokes do not even sound funny and the overall series was a massive flop.
The real deal was Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. This highly ambitious series is the biggest venture ever taken by any OTT platform. The extremely high production value with grand music gave a phenomenal success on Netflix India. It is an extremely successful show as people all over India were enchanted by it.
So the whole 6 months can boast of just Heeramandi and Chamkila. We did not get any documentary which is the strongest point of Netflix India. They could do so much more than they did, but for the ambition, it deserves a 5/10.
