Netflix has launched the plan for its ad-supported model. The plan prospected earlier this year when the disastrous reports of subscriber loss came to the news. It was their plan of gaining new subscribers who would tolerate some ads to enjoy the content at an affordable price.
Regardless, the plan will be called “Basic With Ads”. Users will have to tolerate ads of four to five minutes for watching one hour of content. Also, the users won’t be able to download content. This plan will roll out in the USA on the 3rd of November.
The pricing for this model is $6.99/month. It is even lower than the price of Disney+ or Hulu. But the biggest problem in this plan is resolution. Netflix will stream the content only in 720p.
The advertising tier will initially be available in Canada and Mexico on the 1st of November followed by Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the U.K., and the United State on the 3rd of November. However, Spain will launch on the 10th of November.
But, in case you didn’t notice, India is not on the list. It’s clear that Netflix India is not getting ads at least in the near future.
