Netflix India Original Series That Were Announced but Waiting for Release

OTT giant Netflix had announced its fresh slate of films, web series, documentaries, comedy specials, and reality shows way back in the month of March 2021. While many of them have already been released and currently streaming on the platform, some of the announced titles are still waiting to be released.

In this article, we give you a list of Netflix original series that were announced but are still pending to be released on the Netflix OTT platform.

Finding Anamika

Real-life acclaimed actress Madhuri Dixit plays a reel life superstar in this upcoming mystery-drama with a captivating premise. In her OTT debut, Madhuri Dixit ostensibly plays a renowned actress and a mother of two who suddenly disappears leaving no apparent leads. Thereafter, some uncomfortable and unknown truths are revealed during the course of the police investigation. The show also features Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul.

Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein

Being described by some as a dark, mind-bending psychological thriller, the show is said to follow a small-town man whose life goes haywire when the daughter of a politician who badly wants to marry him. Starring Tahir Raj Bhasin (Mardani) and Shweta Tripathi (Mirzapur), the show is rumored to release by the year’s end.

Aranyak

The series has been created by ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ director Rohan Sippy and stars Raveena Tandon, Parambrata Chatterjee, amongst others. The story is about a murder investigation by two disparate cops in a Himalayan town with supernatural elements. The premise and setting of this crime thriller show are reminiscent of another recent show ‘The Last Hour’ that was released on Amazon Prime Video.

Decoupled

The show revolves around an unhappy married couple who are on the verge of divorce. Madhavan plays a successful writer Arya Iyer and Surveen Chawla plays his spouse. Around a month back, it was made known by Madhavan that he has wrapped up the shoot of the upcoming web series.

Mai

The show which stars ‘Dangal’ actress Sakshi Tanwar in the lead role and is being produced by popular actress Anushka Sharma. The series follows the story of a middle-aged woman who unintentionally kills a hot shot criminal, thereby making her famous in the underworld circuit.

In addition to the above-mentioned shows, Emmy winner ‘Delhi Crime’, crime drama ‘Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega’, Imtiaz Ali’s ‘She’, Masaba Gupta’s ‘Masaba Masaba’, rom-com ‘Mismatched’, and ‘Kota Factory’, etc., have renewed for another season.
