Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 10th October Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the top-ranked title has been bagged by Aamir Khan starrer ‘Forrest Gump’ Indian adaptation ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. While on the second and the third spots of the Netflix list are the romantic comedy movie ‘Plan A Plan B’ featuring Tamannaah Bhatia and Riteish Deshmukh followed by Sreejith N’s directorial ‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot has once again been bagged by the crime drama ‘Jamtara – Sabka Number Aayega’ followed by the Jeffrey Dahmer based crime show ‘Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ and the South Korean series ‘Little Women’.

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. HIT: The First Case

Helmed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film’s plot revolves around an astute police officer of the titular Homicide Intervention Team aka HIT who makes it his mission to find a missing woman which will help him solve the disappearance case of his lover. The mystery thriller features Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles.

9. RRR (Hindi)

S.S Rajamouli’s period action movie features Ram Charan and Jr.NTR in the lead roles and Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. ‘RRR’ is a fictional tale set in the 1920s that revolves around two legendary Indian revolutionaries namely Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (played by Jr. NTR).

8. Last Seen Alive

The action thriller movie features Gerard Butler as a distressed man who must race against time to find his wife after she suddenly disappears from a gas station. But the problem is that he himself has become the prime suspect in the eyes of the authorities and is now on the run while trying to solve the mystery.

7. Dongalunnaru Jagratha

Helmed by Satish Tripura, the survival thriller features Sri Simha Koduri as a small-time thief who hatches a plan to rob an expensive car. However, the protagonist gets more than what he had bargained for after he unknowingly gets trapped inside the car which is being controlled by someone else.

6. Saakini Daakini

The action-comedy movie follows the story of two police trainees and close friends Damini and Shalini (played by Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas), who become witnesses to the kidnapping of a girl. The cop duo teams up to track the girl and punish the culprits without much assistance from the department.

5. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga

The romantic drama movie revolves around two childhood (but now estranged) friends Rishi and Radha (played by Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Ketika Sharma), who begin to develop feelings for each other after they enrol in the same medical college.

4. Luckiest Girl Alive

The mystery thriller movie revolves around how a New York based writer’s seemingly perfect life begins to take an adverse turn when the maker of a true crime documentary threatens to unearth her dark past which is related to her high school days.

3. Oru Thekkan Thallu Case

Directed by Sreejith N., the movie is based on the popular book titled ‘Ammini Pillai Vettu Case’ and features Biju Menon as a lighthouse keeper Ammini in a small place in Southern Kerala. He seeks revenge following an attack by a rival group led by Podiyan (Roshan Mathew) following a small altercation.

2. Plan A Plan B

Helmed by Shashanka Ghosh, the romantic comedy movie revolves around two disparate individuals played by Tamannaah Bhatia and Riteish Deshmukh. The woman’s character is that of a matchmaker who opines that marriage is for everyone excluding herself. While the man in the love story is a successful but cynical divorce lawyer who harbors a secret of his own. When the matchmaker moves her office beside the lawyer, the situation gets complex, and sparks fly.

1. Laal Singh Chaddha

Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is an official remake of Robert Zemeckis’ Oscar-winning movie ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. It features Aamir Khan in the titular role of a good-hearted man with a subpar IQ. How the protagonist inadvertently becomes a part of important events and how he progresses in life through a simple-minded and uncomplicated approach forms the film’s underlying plot line. The movie also features Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, Manav Vij, and Mona Singh in pivotal roles.

TOP 10 SERIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. Delhi Crime

International Emmy Award-winning show features Shefali Shah as senior cop DCP Vartika Chaturvedi alongside proficient actors like Rajesh Tailang (Mirzapur, Selection Day), Rasika Dugal (Mirzapur, Out of Love) and Adil Hussain (English Vinglish, Agent Vinod), amongst others. The first season revolved around the police investigation to nab the culprits responsible for the despicable gang rape that happened in the capital city. The second season follows a fictionalized take on a true crime that follows the cop’s new case which revolves around the killings of several senior citizens in the capital city by a brutal gang of killers.

9. Money Heist

The show follows a hostage situation plotline masterminded by an enigmatic genius and his attempt to pull off a virtually impossible heist with the help of his skilled team.

8. Stranger Things

The initial story, set in the 1980s, revolves around a young boy’s disappearance and the ensuing investigation by his mother, police chief, and his friends amidst supernatural events. The sci-fi horror series (latest season) follows the aftereffects of the devastating Battle of Starcourt at the Hawkins town in Indiana. The show’s young protagonists are now living separately and trying to move on in their lives. At this juncture, a long-buried, supernatural threat that connects everything, emerges on Earth and the Upside Down.

7. The Empress

The German historical romantic drama series revolves around the life of Empress Elizabeth of Austria, who falls in love with Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary, and they marry each other. After marriage, she must deal with her power-hungry mother-in-law and Franz’s brother Max.

6. High Water

Directed by Jan Holoubek and Bartłomiej Ignaciuk, the six-part Polish drama series focuses on the efforts of the scientific community and the government officials to deal with the devastating floods which happen in Wrocławia in the year 1997.

5. The Good Doctor

The underlying premise of the engaging medical drama ‘The Good Doctor’ revolves around Shaun Murphy – an autistic surgical resident with savant syndrome and his quotidian experiences as he relocates to a prestigious California-based hospital.

4. The Midnight Club

Created by Mike Flanagan, the horror thriller series is based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel of the same name. The story revolves around a group of young but terminally ill patients at the Brightcliffe Hospice. They meet during midnight to tell each other scary stories and to find a way to communicate with those from beyond the grave.

3. Little Women

The twelve-part South Korean series is an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel of the same name. The story revolves around three impoverished sisters who share a close bond and how they get involved in a face-off against an affluent family.

2. Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

The crime drama series revolves around the notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer aka Milwaukee Monster (played by Evan Peters) and is narrated from the perspective of the killer’s victims. The show focuses on how incompetence and leniency by the authorities and how Dahmer got away on multiple occasions.

1. Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega

‘Jamtara’ is set in the Jamtara region of the Eastern Indian State of Jharkhand. The premise is about a group of small-town and ambitious youngsters led by the protagonists Rocky (Anshuman Pushkar) and Sunny (Sparsh Shrivastava) who are the brains behind a profitable social engineering phishing operation.
