In this week’s Netflix top 10 films list, there is an addition of not one but all three films of ‘The Kissing Booth’ teen rom-com trilogy. While its recently released third installment ‘The Kissing Booth 3’ currently holds the second spot, the trilogy has concurrently renewed interest for the other two parts that have also found a place on the list.
Then, the spin-off film of the Fast and Furious franchise ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Idris Elba has bagged the coveted top spot on the movies list. It is noteworthy that the ninth installment of the hit franchise ‘F9’ is all geared up for a theatrical release in India, so the curiosity levels are quite high.
The star-studded Netflix anthology ‘Navarasa’ comprising nine standalone stories featuring an ensemble cast and helmed by eminent filmmakers is still going strong and is currently on an impressive third spot.
Moreover, Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi starrer acclaimed social drama ‘Mimi’ based on the sensitive subject of surrogacy has moved from last week’s second place to the still admirable fourth spot even after three weeks of its release.
The mystery thriller ‘Haseen Dillruba’ starring Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey is still holding the fort and is at 6th place now from the previous week’s third spot.
And Sony’s first foray into the musical animated film space ‘Vivo’ has also managed to find a place on the list. ‘Vivo’ revolves around the story of Cuba-based Andres and the titular kinkajou (rainforest honey bear) and their common love for music.
And it’s a pleasant surprise for SRK fans as Rohit Shetty’s 2013 film ‘Chennai Express’ has also made its appearance on the top ten movies list. A few days back, the blockbuster film had completed 8 years.
As far as TV shows are concerned, the revenge thriller series ‘Hit & Run’ which started streaming from 6th August has retained its top on the list. The series has been marked as ‘Good’ on our five-point rating scale. The story follows a hit-and-run accident that kills a woman. His husband tries to find his wife’s killer with the help of his former lover.
Likewise, ‘Sex/Life’, Korean romantic drama ‘Nevertheless’, inimitable heist thriller ‘Money Heist’, the engaging medical drama ‘The Good Doctor’, comedy-drama ‘Never Have I Ever’ about an Indian American student Devi, and the evergreen cult show ‘Friends’ are still trending on Netflix and have marked their presence on the top 10 series list.
The fifth installment of ‘Money Heist’ is slated to start streaming from 3rd September, so it looks like the title is here to stay for a while and deservedly so.
Whereas the light-hearted Netflix original anthology of six short stories ‘Feels Like Ishq’ has moved down from third place to the tenth spot this week. We’ve compiled for you the entire Top Ten films and series list on Netflix India to watch in the week of 16th August week.
