Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 22nd November Week

Netflix India’s top ten films and series list is back with some interesting additions, omissions, and changes in ranks. For Netflix’s top ten films list, the top spot this week is held by the recently released Ram Madhvani’s thriller ‘Dhamaka’ starring Kartik Aaryan.

While the last week’s top ranker – the immensely popular action-comedy film ‘Red Notice’ starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot is down to second place this week.

Three new interesting additions this week are that Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart starrer ‘Central Intelligence’, Matt Damon’s ‘Jason Bourne’, and Tom Cruise’s spy film ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’.

On the Netflix top-ten TV shows front, the cult South Korean show ‘Squid Game’ that is being loved by fans across the world, has been surpassed by another Korean show called ‘Hellbound’.

While ‘Narcos Mexico’, whose third and final season started streaming on Netflix from 5th November, has still retained a place on the list.

Here’s the full list of the top ten movies and TV shows on Netflix India this week:

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

Helmed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Tomorrowland), this film was the fourth part of the globally acclaimed spy film series ‘Mission: Impossible’. Tom Cruise reprises his role as the daredevil IMF agent Ethan Hunt and also features Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Indian actor Anil Kapoor.

In the film, Ethan Hunt and his team must find a dangerous terrorist to avert a nuclear attack on the country. But, to complete the mission, the elite IMF team has no backup as they have been disowned following the team’s implication in a bombing.

9. Jason Bourne

Just a few days back, all Jason Bourne films including ‘Jason Bourne’ (2016) had started streaming on the Netflix OTT platform.

Directed by Paul Greengrass (Green Zone, Captain Phillips), ‘Jason Bourne’ brings the former CIA assassin (Matt Damon) back into the deadly cat-and-mouse game with the CIA after his ex-CIA ally informs him about his father’s involvement in the top-secret Treadstone program. The film also starred veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones in an important role.

8. Army of Thieves

It’s a prequel to the zombie heist film ‘Army of the Dead’ helmed by Zack Snyder. The film has been directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, who also reprises his role as the German safecracker Ludwig Dieter from the parent film, but this time as the film’s lead actor.

The prequel is set six years before the events of ‘Army of the Dead’ and amidst the onset of the zombie apocalypse. In the film, Ludwig, a bank teller, is assigned a mission by a mysterious woman, to execute a virtually impossible heist.

7. Doctor (Tamil)

It’s a black comedy thriller movie that revolves around a pragmatic military doctor (Sivakarthikeyan) who gets involved in a kidnapping case of the niece of his fiancée. How he teams up with the family members and uses his intellect to track down the kidnappers to rescue the girl forms the rest of the film’s plot.

6. Maha Samudram (Telugu)

It’s a romantic action movie starring Sharwanand, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Anu Emmanuel. Helmed by Ajay Bhupathi and set in Vishakhapatnam, the film’s plotline revolves around two close friends with disparate ideologies and how their lives change after their encounter with a dreaded gangster.

5. The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star

It’s the third installment of the Christmas rom-com ‘Princess Switch’ film series. The plot revolves around a stolen sacred relic and how Princess Margaret and Princess Stacy enlist the help of Margaret’s cousin Lady Fiona Pembroke, in order to catch the jewel thief.

4. Meenakshi Sundareshwar

A romantic comedy that features Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani in the lead roles. The film is based on the struggles of long-distance relationships faced by a newly married couple.

3. Central Intelligence

This entertaining action-comedy movie follows an underachieving accountant (Kevin Hart), who is suddenly contacted by his former nerdy, overweight, and awkward high school mate (Dwayne Johnson), who has now transformed into a super-fit and ultra-confident CIA agent. They must team up to stop a terrorist from selling critical information to the wrong hands.

2. Red Notice

Helmed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, this action-comedy thriller film features WWE star turned Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson as an FBI profiler who teams up with a renowned art thief (Ryan Reynolds) to catch a highly elusive criminal (Gal Gadot). The movie has recently bagged the honors of becoming the biggest opening day film on Netflix.

1. Dhamaka

Directed by Ram Madhvani (Aarya, Neerja), the film follows a disgraced, washed-out journalist Arjun Pathak (played by Kartik Aaryan) who has been demoted to a radio jockey. The once hotshot anchor sees a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get the promotion he wants, after he receives a shocking call from a grudge-bearing, vengeful person on his radio show. But he gets more than what he had bargained for, with explosive consequences.

10. You

The romantic psychological thriller ‘You’ follows a dangerously obsessed bookstore manager who can go to any lengths for a romantic relationship with the women he falls for. The third season of the show started streaming on Netflix from 15th October.

9. Locke & Key

‘Locke & Key’ is a supernatural mystery-horror show that revolves around the three Locke siblings who relocate to their ancestral home along with their mother after the mysterious death of their father. They soon find many magical keys inside the house which they think are somehow related to their father’s death. The second season of the popular show started streaming on Netflix on 22nd October.

8. Arcane

Arcane is an animated series that is set as a prequel to the ‘League of Legends’ video game and narrates the stories of popular champions from the opposing worlds of Piltover and Zaun that featured in the game.

7. Narcos Mexico

The third and final installment of ‘Narcos: Mexico’ is ostensibly set in the 1990s and revolves around the war that breaks out after the fall of the Guadalajara Cartel empire headed by Felix. The third season witnesses the emergence of new and independent cartels and their fight for survival.

6. Call My Agent: Bollywood

The Netflix series ‘Call My Agent: Bollywood’ is an Indian adaptation of the French series ‘Dix Pour Cent’. The show revolves around four talent agents (played by Aahana Kumra, Rajat Kapoor, Soni Razdan, and Ayush Mehra) and their endeavor to save the agency after the founder’s untimely demise.

5. Cowboy Bebop

The sci-fi show is a live-action adaptation of the Japanese animated series of the same name. The series, set in the year 2071, follow the daredevil space adventures of Mars-born bounty hunter Spike (played by John Cho) as he chases Solar System criminals along with a group of bounty hunters namely Jet and Faye.

4. The Good Doctor

The fifth season of the engaging medical drama ‘The Good Doctor’ commenced streaming on the SonyLIV platform a few weeks back. The plot revolves around Shaun Murphy – an autistic surgical resident with savant syndrome and his quotidian experiences as he relocates to a prestigious California-based hospital.

3. Money Heist

The much-admired show is back again on the top series Netflix list. The show comes recommended by Binged bureau and we have rated it a solid 7.5/10. ‘Bigger stakes, bigger thrills & even bigger cliffhangers’ is our review’s bottom-line. Volume-1 part-5 of the show began streaming on Netflix from 3rd September while the second volume will release on 3rd December.

2. Squid Game

The show follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival game called ‘Squid Game’. The winner of the game will take home a huge amount. The show is currently rated 8.1/10 on IMDb and has a 94% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 64 ratings. Despite being quite brutal and repulsive, it’s being called by many a compelling watch. Not for the weak of heart though.

1. Hellbound

Ostensibly set in another version of Earth, Hellbound is a South Korean fantasy series where supernatural beings emerge from nowhere and drag humans to hell and it results in a religious group instituted on the belief of divine justice. Binged has rated the series an impressive 7/10.
