Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 26th December Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the top-ranked title has been bagged by Rian Johnson’s star-studded ‘Knives Out’ sequel ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’, followed by the romantic drama movie ‘Tara Vs Bilal’ and the medical college campus comedy film ‘Doctor G’ featuring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot has been bagged by the horror comedy series ‘Wednesday’. While on the second and the third spots of the Netflix list are the romantic comedy series ‘Emily in Paris’ and the Japanese sci-fi thriller ‘Alice in Borderland’, respectively.

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. Kalaga Thalaivan

The action thriller movie revolves around a man named Thirumaaran (Udhayanidhi Stalin), who works in a heavy vehicle manufacturing company, which launches high-mileage trucks. But when the news about these trucks emitting high quantities of pollutants comes out, the owner hires an assassin to track down the whistle-blower responsible for it.

9. Knives Out

Rian Johnson’s whodunnit movie features former James Bond actor Daniel Craig in the role of an astute detective Benoit Blank, who investigates the mysterious death of an acclaimed crime novelist (Christopher Plummer) and the head of an eccentric and dysfunctional family. The ensemble cast also features Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Shannon, etc.

8. The Teacher

The Malayalam language thriller movie follows a physical education teacher Devika (Amala Paul), who decides to exact revenge after a scandalous video apparently involving her goes viral.

7. Honeymoon

Directed by Amar Preet Chhabra, the Punjabi comedy drama movie revolves around a newly married couple Deep (Gippy Grewal) and Sukh (Jasmin Bhasin), whose plan to go for their honeymoon is foiled by their extended family who wants to accompany the couple.

6. Code Name: Tiranga

Helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the spy action movie follows the story of a spy – Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent (played by Parineeti Chopra), who must race against time to complete an important mission for her country. The film also features Harrdy Sandhu, Sharad Kelkar, Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.

5. Kantara (Hindi)

The man vs nature centric film has been written and directed by and features actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty. The film is set in the fictional village of Kantara and follows the story of a hot-headed henchman named Shiva (Rishab Shetty). When a forest officer Murali (Kishore) tries to stop the local superstitions in the village and save the forest from the residents, Shiva locks horns with Murali with support from his landlord (Achyuth Kumar).

4. Love Today

The premise of the Tamil language romantic drama movie revolves around a couple whose phones are exchanged for a day, leading to an amusing turn of events. It features Pradeep Ranganathan alongside Radhika Sathyakumar, Sathyaraj, and Yogi Babu.

3. Doctor G

Set amidst the backdrop of a medical college campus in Bhopal, the social comedy film features Ayushmann Khurrana as Dr. Uday Gupta, the only male student who unwillingly ends up in the gynaecology department, despite his penchant for orthopaedics. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap (Afsos), the movie also features Rakul Preet Singh as a medical student Dr. Fatima, Shefali Shah as Dr. Nandini, and Sheeba Chaddha as Ayushmann’s mother.

2. Tara Vs Bilal

The romantic drama movie features Harshvardhan Rane and Sonia Rathi in the titular roles of Tara and Bilal, respectively. After getting dumped by her husband, a financially and emotionally strained Tara struggles to live in London. Hotel owner Bilal then hatches a plan to execute a staged marriage with Tara because of family pressure. But God apparently has a different plan for them.

1. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

In the ‘Knives Out’ sequel, ex-James Bond actor Daniel Craig reprises his role as the astute detective – Benoit Blanc. The story follows a tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton), who invites his friends to his private Greek island. But the goings-on take a drastic turn when someone is killed, and Benoit Blanc is tasked to investigate the mysterious case. The whodunnit film also features Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Jessica Henwick, Ethan Hawke, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, amongst others.

10. The Fabulous

Set amidst the backdrop of the fashion industry in Seoul, the romantic comedy South Korean series revolves around a good-looking freelance photographer and a luxury brand public relations manager.

9. Money Heist

The show follows a hostage situation plotline masterminded by an enigmatic genius and his attempt to pull off a virtually impossible heist with the help of his skilled team.

8. Business Proposal

The South Korean show follows the story of a woman named Shin Ha-ri, who goes out on a blind date instead of her unwilling friend. However, by a twist of fate, the prospective partner she meets turns out to be the CEO of the company where she works.

7. Alchemy of Souls

The South Korean series is set in a fictional region Daeho where mages can use the titular magic spell ‘Alchemy of Souls’ to switch bodies. The story follows an elite warrior Nak-su (Jung So-min), who gets trapped inside the body of a blind woman and helps a man (Lee Jae-wook) from a noble family to change his fate.

6. The Recruit

The eight-episode spy adventure series revolves around a rookie lawyer at the CIA Owen Hendricks (played by Noah Centineo), whose life takes a U-turn when a former asset threatens to expose her relationship with the agency unless her name gets cleared.

5. CAT

Helmed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, the action thriller web series follows the story of a former police informant aka CAT (Randeep Hooda) who is enlisted by a disgruntled cop for a daredevil mission to infiltrate a drug empire and to cause a powerful politician’s downfall. Now, he must deal with a dangerous drug gang and his dark past to save his brother’s life.

4. Khakee: The Bihar Chapter

Neeraj Pandey’s crime action-drama series revolves around the violent face-off between an upright super-cop and a dreaded criminal amidst the backdrop of chaos, violent and rampant corruption. It features an ensemble cast that includes Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwari, Abhimanyu Singh, Ravi Kishan, Ashutosh Rana, and Anup Soni, amongst others.

3. Alice in Borderland

The Japanese sci-fi thriller series follows a jobless gamer, who is sent to another dimension – a parallel and desolate Tokyo where he and his allies must compete in a sadistic game of survival. He also meets a young woman and together they set out to unearth the mystery.

2. Emily in Paris

In a pleasant surprise for Chicago-based marketing executive Emily, she gets her dream job in Paris and relocates. She is assigned to redesign a French marketing company’s social media strategy from an American perspective. As she deals with a culture clash in a new country, she concurrently balances her workplace along with her personal life.

1. Wednesday

The horror comedy series focuses on The Addams Family character named Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega). The story is about how the titular protagonist, a gothic teenage girl, hones her psychic abilities and attempts to investigate a series of brutal killings.
