Steven Moffat, the acclaimed television writer who has worked on hit shows like Dracula, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and so many others has now come forward with another drama series. Titled, “Inside Man“, the limited series will be co-produced by BBC and streaming giant Netflix.
The leads for the miniseries have already been confirmed and the cast is star-studded to say the least. Audience will be seeing Oscar nominated actor Stanley Tucci in the titular role of the “Inside Man”. Besides Tucci, David Tennant, Lydia West, Dolly Wells are the ones that have joined the “main lead” team for the series.
Inside Man will be a four part mini series. This will follow a prisoner on death row in the US, a vicar living in a small, quaint English town and a Math teacher who happen to cross each other’s path in the most unexpected ways in their lifetime. Besides Stanley Tucci playing the “Inside Man”, it is not known as to who will play which character.
Though this is described as the basic plot, the original drama from the series has been kept under wraps. Steven Moffat, who has been in this industry for a long time, knows one thing for sure, that he needs to keep the story protected. The plot has been so well protected that apparently both BBC and Netflix have no clue as to what will actually go down in the series.
Loaded with a stellar cast and amazing people behind the camera, the show for sure will be getting people’s attention. Netflix jumping on board to join the production team for the series is definitely great news for the viewers and also the team as this helps the series reach beyond the boundaries of the UK and Ireland.
Netflix joining hands with BBC is not a new thing. Earlier too, Netflix bought the rights for the BBC series “Dracula” which again was a brainchild of Moffat’s. Besides these, Netflix and BBC have also teamed for two more series “The Serpent” and “Red Roses”.
The series will be helmed by director Paul McGuian who is known for the Sherlock series. Alex Mercer has joined the team as the producer for the series. The production for the series will begin later this year.
