Around 10 hours ago, 2:30 am approximately, Netflix tweeted that they had an announcement to be made during it’s Netflix Anime Festival 2020 livestream. And five hours later, they dropped an amount of anime updates that would make any anime fan, starstruck.
Netflix announced the production of five new anime projects while at the same time giving us much needed updates on their current ongoing production of the previously mentioned eleven anime releases. Here are the new anime as well as the latest anime updates on Netflix:
NEW SERIES
Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure
This anime will be produced in stop-motion anime following the success of ‘Rilakkuma and Kaoru’. In the new series, follow Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Kiiroitori and Koaru as they go to play in an amusement park, that is about to close.

Thermae Romae Novae
This famous Yamazaki Mari manga has been brought to life in a new way (Novae means new in Latin). In this web-series, follow Lucius, a bath designer from Roman Empire who accidentally slips through time and reaches present day Japan. Lucius then proceeds to learn about the current bath culture in Japan in this lively comedy.

High-Rise Invasion
The series will be based on the original manga written by Miura Tsuina and Takahiro Oba. The story is a survival thriller, set in high-rise buildings that don’t seem to touch the ground. Follow the protagonist, Yuri, as she tries to survive this illogical world as well as kill a “masked enemy”.

Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan
This spinoff is based on the manga artist Kishibe Rohan from the anime series ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable’. The 4-episode mini-series will be based on the destination he went to gain material for his manga.

The Way of the Househusband
This series will focus on a feared Yakuza legend, tatsu, who left the feared gang to become a full-time househusband. It will be based on the manga written by Kosuke Oono.

No new storyline has been provided, but the CGI has been drastically improved from the old CG film ‘Resident Evil: Vendetta’, promising to be a better experience.
