Every month Netflix keeps upping its game when it comes to Korean content. Besides adding old and currently running titles to their library, Netflix has also been stressing on limited originals since Squid Game revolution. The latest Netflix Korean original offering is ‘The Fabulous’, a limited series set in the South Korean fashion world from Netflix. Post the gigantic success of Business Proposal, The Fabulous aims at a similar audience base owing to its rom-com genre. The Fabulous will stream on Netflix on December 23rd.
Netflix dropped a fresh trailer today where we can see the main leads Ji Woo-min (played by Choi Min-ho) and Pyo Ji-eun (played by Chae Soo-bin) seem to indulge in a post-breakup friendship. Having moved on to different relationships, the duo meet each other again at a fashion event. However things get difficult for the duo as old feelings start creeping back. The trailer gives us everything we’d want from a December K-drama. It’s mushy, sweet and funny. The Fabulous follows stories of dreams, love, and friendship pertaining to the South Korean fashion world.
The Fabulous stars Chae Soo-bin and Choi Min-ho in lead roles. Chae Soo-bin’s Pyo Ji-eun is a manager at a PR agency for luxury brands in her Netflix debut while Choi Min-ho who last appeared in ‘Lovestruck in the City’ plays freelance retoucher Ji Woo-min.
The 8 episode limited series is directed by Kim Jeong-hyeon and written by Kim Ji-hee and Im Jin-sun. The show was earlier set to premiere on November 4th but due to Seol Halloween Crowd Crush tragedy, the release date got postponed. The new release date is December 23rd.
