Netflix’s series are always something to look forward to. Some end up becoming legendary, while some just end up becoming part of their massive library. Netflix over the years has been investing a lot to bring some of the best content from Asia, be it Indian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Middle Eastern, Netflix has been going all out with the content. Out of all these, one that has been growing tremendously is Korean content. To maintain this, Netflix is all set to release a brand new thriller series titled “My Name”. Netflix Korea for the past week has been giving glimpses of the show and what fans can expect from it. Now, finally, we have the much-awaited teaser for “My Name” and it looks nothing less than killer. The trailer shows the lead, Han So-hee as Yoon Ji-woo and how she trains, beats, slashes, kills to become one of the most feared killers out there. Yoon Ji-woo does all this so that she is able to avenge her father who was killed. It is clearly mentioned in the teaser that, to achieve all these, she is even ready to turn into a monster that everyone fears and we are sure “My Name” will show us the monstrous side of Han So-hee for the first time ever.
“My Name” is all set to release on the 15th of October on Netflix and comprises 8 episodes. Other than Han So-hee, My Name includes actors Park Hee-soon, Ahn Bo-hyun, Kim Sang-ho, and Lee Hak-joo in prominent roles. The main gist of “My Name” tells that Yoon Ji-woo’s father was one day mysteriously killed, without any trace of who the killer could be. To find out who the killer was, she joins a renowned gang and starts working for them. Soon, she goes undercover for the gang as an officer into the police department to act as a mole. Now, with being part of both the police and the gang, she will know the secrets of both sides, making her work easier.
“My Name” is the first show that Han So-hee has signed up for that shows such an extreme side of hers. She was recently seen in the series “Nevertheless” on Netflix, which was a complete success. Besides that, she also played prominent roles in the hit series “The World of the Married”, “100 Days My Prince”, “Abyss” and others. “My Name” is directed by Kim Jin-min and will also see its first screening in the “Busan Film Festival” under the newly created “On Screen” section.
Since limited drama series from Korea are doing extremely well on OTT platforms, it would be interesting to see how “My Name” pans out to be.
