Netflix India has today announced the renewal of its acclaimed crime drama thriller ‘Black Warrant’ for a second season. The show created by Vikramaditya Motwane and Stayanshu Singh, received great critical and public acclaim upon its debut earlier this year in January and this renewal brings joy to the fans who had been eagerly waiting for this good news.
‘Black Warrant’ is based on a 2019 non-fiction book ‘Black Warrant: Confession of a Tihar Jailer’ by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Chaudhary and follows the story of Gupta while he served as the jailer in Tihar prison.
Zahan Kapoor, Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, and Anurag Thakur star in lead roles in ‘Black Warrant’.
The show stayed in top 10 show in India for multiple weeks and earned immense praise for it’s writing, performances, narrative and overall execution. ‘Black Warrant’ has been called by critics as a grim, discomforting series that does not fall for easy tropes and is absolutely binge worthy.
Now that ‘Black Warrant’ is retuning for season 2, it has got the fans excited and rightly so. The series has been one of Netflix’s best outing for 2025 as of yet and renewing it has definitely delighted the viewers.
