Just a week after its premiere, Netflix has renewed the latest global sensation ‘The Night Agent’ for a second season. The political action thriller drama was quick to rise to the top and debuted on #1 spot on the English TV List with 168.71M hours viewed, making it the most viewed title this week.
Moreover, ‘The Night Agent’ ranks #3 for premiere week of viewing across all Season 1 TV and appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries. The show will return to Netflix for a second season with 10 episodes.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, ‘The Night Agent’ season 1 is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings, until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios, the first season of ‘The Night Agent’ has received tremendous reviews and elated with the response Netflix is quick to react with a season two announcement that will land on Netflix in 2024.
In addition to Gabriel Basso, ‘The Night Agent’ season 1 also stars Oscar nominee Hong Chau, Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Fola Evans-Akingbola, D.B. Woodside, Eve Harlow, Phoenix Raei, Kari Matchett, Christopher Shyer, Sarah Desjardins, Robert Patrick, Ben Cotton and Enrique Murciano.
