Netflix has greenlighted Season 2 of Rapman’s hit superhero series, Supacell. The streaming platform made the official announcement via its social platforms on Tuesday. The sophomore chapter comes after the successful six-episode premiere of Season 1 back in June this year.
Supacell revolves around a group of five ordinary-looking black people from South London who unexpectedly develop superpowers and are unified by a family history of sickle cell disease. They decide to stick together and help one another after a secret organisation starts hunting them. We saw Tosin Cole’s Michael Lasaki (a delivery driver with the ability to teleport anywhere) bringing the gang together in the first season.

Andrew Onwubolu, better known as Rapman, created the series. He also co-helmed Season 1 along with Sebastian Thiel. Rapman also co-executively produces the series with Anna Ferguson, Mouktar Mohammed, and Steve Searle.
Supacell pulled in more than 11.8 million views within its first week of streaming release and over 7.1 million views in the next one. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series stands with a ‘fresh’ score of 100%, based on 12 certified reviews. Stay tuned for more updates.
