Netflix released the teaser poster for the forthcoming live-action horror TV series “Resident Evil“, which is based on Capcom’s popular Resident Evil video games. The poster gives us a sneak peak into the overall vibe of the show.
The first picture depicts a test tube filled with blood , with a label marked positive for the deadly T virus. Another poster shows a capsule which is marked as Joy; the logo of Umbrella Corporation. Umbrella Corporation created the deadly pathogen, zombie plague and other mutated devils. The third image contains just a splash of blood against a yellow backdrop, insinuating at something sinister. The series will be premiered globally on July 14 on Netflix, taking our fears to it’s zenith in this summer season. The short summary of the show reads as:
“Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”
The eight episodes series stars Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker alongside Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nuñez. Additional cast members are Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, Turlough Convery, Reddick’s Wesker.
Netflix first announced about the series in August 2020 and confirmed that the show would juggle between two timelines, one featuring Jade and her sister Billie Weaker as teens and another set in a future devastated by the bloodthirsty mutated zombies.
Dabb , Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film serve as the executive producers. Constantin Film CEO Martin Moszkowicz bankrolled it under Constantin Film.
